Groundbreaking. Technology.

Particle assembly instead of amplification simplifies the genetic detection process!

Which kernels are resistant?

Our Approach....

Patent pending microparticle paring technology.
  1. Pre-programed particles assemble in the presence of  specific genetic traits.
  2. Device utilizes off the shelf components to control assembly parameters.
  3. Image capture of assembled particles particles is converted to quantitative result which correlates pixels to the amount of genetic material present.

Why is genetic detection needed for harvested grains?

Due to consumer demands: With advancements in crop genetics identification of transgenic organisms in the food supply chain is needed.

Increased regulation: The European Union and Non-GMO project have implemented standards that Non-GMO labeled grain must test  <1% (EU) and <5% in the US.

Where can a ExpresSeed test be done?

Anywhere by anyone! You don't need a high-tech lab or a PhD to be able to run our test. Simply extract the DNA, mix the crude extract with our pre-programmed particles and load into our catrdige.

An Enzyme-Free Genetic Detection Technology

ExpresSeed is a novel patent pending solution that addresses genetic detection needs that current technologies are unable to provide to grain, feed, and hybrid seed distributors along the supply chain.
  • An enzyme-free technology
    1. Reduces sample prep time
    2. Crude sample tolerant
    3. Low cost and complexity of materials
  • Non-amplification PCR alternative technology
    1. Simple assay development for new trait addition
    2. Fast assay times
Together, wider adoption of decentralized onsite genetic testing enables proactive testing which allows supply chain points to meet their regulatory testing needs more efficiently.
